Art History Assistant Professor Meg Bernstein presents research at international conferences

Meg Bernstein, Assistant Professor Art History at the School of Art and Design (SOAD), New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, spent the summer in the United Kingdom and Spain conducting research, delivering papers, and organizing workshops.


In the United Kingdom, Bernstein presented papers at the International Medieval Congress in Leeds and the Britain and the World Conference held in Winchester.

She also co-organized a set of workshops and labs called "Carving Collective Practice: Working Against Monolithic Scholarship on Stone" for the Islands of the North Atlantic Conference in London.

While in Spain, Bernstein researched Islamic architecture for a future art history course.

Bernstein joined Alfred in 2023. She received her PhD in Art History, from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2019. Her summer work was supported with funding from the International Fellowship for Faculty Development.
